Your data

Backup and Restore move your scans between browsers without a server. With sync connected (cloud button) every device already shares the same data.

How to use PokeScan ✕

Everything runs on your phone. Scans, roster and settings live in this browser's storage and never leave the device.

1 · Scan your Pokémon

• In Pokémon GO open a Pokémon's status screen and take a screenshot, or screen-record while swiping through your storage.
• Tap Profile (top right) once and set your trainer level, or read it from a screenshot of your trainer profile. Then open ≡ → Scans & import, tap ＋ Import scans and pick the screenshots or the recording.
• Each card shows the solved IVs, Great/Ultra League IV rank, the level and stardust needed to reach the 1500 cap, PvPoke meta rank, and what its evolution would be.
• Moves: scroll the status screen down to the attacks and screenshot that too (or keep recording while you scroll). The moves land on the card, and "NEW ATTACK" tells the app the second charged move is still locked. Today then suggests Fast/Charged TMs and second moves for your team members, and a rescan of the attacks clears them.
• Exact IVs: screenshot (or record) the appraisal screen with the three orange bars. It shows name, CP, HP and the level arc too, so on its own it already makes a complete card with exact IVs. If a card for that Pokémon exists, the appraisal is attached to it instead; no duplicates either way.
• Cards show three numbers. IVs are the hidden Attack/Defence/HP values (0–15 each). IV% is their sum out of 45, the number Pokémon GO's appraisal stars hint at. GL rank is what matters for battling: the position of this IV spread among the 4096 possible spreads of that species at the 1500 cap, with its stat product relative to the #1 spread; #1 is the perfect Great League copy. Tap a card for everything else: bars, Ultra League rank, power-up cost, evolution preview, moves and corrections.
• When you rescan a Pokémon after a power-up or evolution, the old card is archived automatically (filter "Archived" to see it) and the step shows up under Recently completed.
• Every Pokémon has its own page: tap a roster tile, a name in the rankings or a meta team. It shows your copy, moves, the teams it makes with your roster, what it beats and loses to, and where to get it (raids, eggs, research, events from Leek Duck's schedule). Remove it from the roster there.
• Tap a card to set its moves, bench it, or correct species, CP, HP or level and re-solve. ☆ marks a favourite, ✕ deletes it. The search box and filter narrow the list; "best copy" marks the best of several copies of a species.
• Scans stay until you delete them. Rescan a Pokémon only after you power it up or evolve it, and delete the old card.

2 · Today

• Run this team is the best trio you can build from what you own, with a lead / swap / closer suggestion and the meta Pokémon it struggles with. Tap it for the full coverage grid: green wins, red loses, tinted rows beat two of your three, faded cells are estimated from typing rather than PvPoke's simulations.
• Next moves ranks what to do: power-ups for team members, evolutions and catches by how many points they add, and what to park. Scan proof opens the importer; if the new scan clears the item it is ticked with the scan as evidence. Done anyway ticks it without proof, Snooze hides it for a week. Items with no gain are collapsed under "show more".
• Other teams groups your trios by shared core; the third slot shows the points lost against the core's best pick.
• Scores are on PvPoke's 0–1000 battle-rating scale: the best meta trios score 690–720, an average trio about 520.

3 · Builder and the menu

• The bar at the bottom switches between Today, Builder and Roster. Everything else is in the ≡ menu top left: saved teams, meta teams, rankings, raids, scans, your profile, sync and this help. Every page has its own link, so the browser Back button and bookmarks work.
• Builder: pick any three Pokémon (from the rankings, a meta team, or by name) and see the same score, roles, coverage grid and a line saying what you would still need to catch. Change moves per slot. Save it as an in-game party or add the missing members to wanted. With two slots filled it suggests the best third from your roster and from the meta.
• Meta teams (menu): the best trios we derived from PvPoke's meta group. "Try in builder" loads one.
• Rankings (menu): all of PvPoke's Great League rankings with search and a type filter. "slot" adds to the builder, "want" to your wanted list; a chip shows what you already own.

4 · Roster

• Every Pokémon is a tile: ready, powering up, pending (an evolution of a scanned Pokémon, or something you added), wanted (a pickup, with the safe catch CP), XL gated or benched. Tap a tile for its rank, cost to the cap, moves, what it beats and loses to, and actions.
• Owned tiles come from your scans at or under 1500 CP, one copy per species. Use + to add Pokémon by name as owned, pending or wanted, and Load saved roster to pull the roster in the repo.
• Moves default to what the screenshot showed, else PvPoke's recommendation. Change them on the tile or on the scan card; the planner uses what you set.

5 · Sync across devices

• When the app runs on your own PokeScan server, a cloud button appears in the header. Enter the server passcode once per device; scans, roster, parties and the completion log then follow you between phone and laptop. Local storage remains the working copy, so offline still works.
• On the GitHub Pages copy there is no server, so the button is hidden and the app is device-only. Use Backup / Restore (under the Profile button) to move data.

6 · Data and updates

• PvPoke rankings are bundled with the app and refreshed automatically every Monday. The date is shown at the top of the Roster page and in the menu.
• The app works offline after the first visit. Scanning itself needs a connection for the text-recognition library.
• Install it: on iPhone use Share → Add to Home Screen. Note that the home-screen app has its own storage: move scans with Backup and Restore under the Profile button, or connect sync in both.
• Team scores are a heuristic (PvPoke's published matchups plus type effectiveness), not a battle simulation. Verify a team in PvPoke's Team Builder before investing stardust.
